about

Yet another new discovery for me, this time suggested by my lovely sound engineer husband Steve Vella. He’s a songwriter himself and I wasn’t surprised when it took only the first line to slay me “This circus is falling down on it’s knees, the big top is crumbling down.” This song reminds me of the way I feel at the end of a long tour when things start getting ragged. I’m particularly happy with the little snatches of counterpoint that emerge
from the end of the bridge into the last chorus. It underpins the idea of random scraps of memory nicely. And who wouldn’t enjoy launching into that awesomely climactic melody on “three-thousand, five hundred miles away” whatever the instrumentation?!
