Another gem of a discovery, this time via a Facebook friend, Anji Spangle. I had never heard any of the work of Adelaide born diva- Sia, but the word ‘chocolate’ was sure to get me in. Beyond that, this song is just so electrifying to sing. I kept the bass very simple, but it was handy to have a low Eb to use on occasion to really thump you in the chest. The finished vocal, especially in the outtro is one of my favourite ever captured. I don’t often approach that level of abandonment in front of a studio mic, but I did have a real fresh piece of heart-ache to sing through.
